THE 2026 ALTITUDE CHALLENGE STARTS MARCH 1ST!

There will be 4 parts to the Altitude Challange, you can do any one of the 4 challenges individually or enter them all! Ride anywhere in the world and log your rides on Strava.

PART 1 - MARCH 2026 MAUNA KEA (Tallest mountain base to top 10,211m/33,500ft)

PART 2 - JUNE 2026 MIG LA PASS (Highest sealed road in the world 5,913m/19,400ft)  

PART 3 - SEPTEMBER 2026 EVEREST (Highest point above sea level 8,848m/29,032ft)

PART 4 - DECEMBER 2026 MARIANA (Lowest point below sea level 11,033m/36,200ft)

THIS IS YOUR ENTRY FOR PART 1 - MAUNA KEA!

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE?

Mauna Kea is 10,211m tall from its base under the ocean to its peak. Can you climb to the top in the month of March? You have 31 days to get there! But don't worry if that's a bit much for you, we have some more civilized climbs for you!

LLC - Land Lovers Challenge, Climb from sea level to the peak 4,205m/13,796ft 

SUB - Submariners Challenge, Climb from the bottom of the ocean base to sea level 6006m/19,704ft

BIG KAHUNA - Climb from the bottom to the top, all 10,211m/36,200ft

Every rider starts at 0m with the first milestone being the LLC at 4205m, this is the minimum a rider must achieve in order to earn their event jersey. If you don't reach this point then you won't receive your jersey.

The second milestone of the climb is the SUB challenge at 6006m/19,704ft, riders who make it to here will receive their jersey plus 2 bonus entries into the Major Prize draw.

And the final milestone of the climb is reaching the peak which is the BIG KAHUNA challenge at 10,211m/36,200ft. Riders who make to the top will receive their jersey plus 6 bonus entries into the major prize draw plus go into a bonus draw to win a $200 voucher to use on their next purchase at carbonmafia.net.

MIG LA PASS is the highest sealed road in the world at 5,913m above sea level, the air is thin and the climbs are long. Can you climb to the top in the month of June? You have 30 days to get there! But don't worry if that's a bit much for you, we have some more civilized climbs for you!

INDUS VALLEY, A low point in this high altitude part of India, sitting around 2,700m/8,858ft

LIKARU - Is the starting point of the worlds highest road, a climb to here from sea level is 4,297m/14,100ft

BIG MIG - Climb from sea level to the top, all 5,913m/19,400ft

Every rider starts at 0m with the first milestone being the INDUS VALLEY at 2,700m,8,858ft this is the minimum a rider must achieve in order to earn their event jersey. If you don't reach this point then you won't receive your jersey.

The second milestone of the climb is the LIKARU challenge at 4,297m or 14,100ft, riders who make it to here will receive their jersey plus 2 bonus entries into the Major Prize draw.

And the final milestone of the climb is reaching the peak which is the BIG MIG challenge at 5,913m/19,400ft. WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE?

EVEREST is the highest point in the world at 8,848m above sea level, the holy grail for climbers. Can you climb to the top in the month of September? You have 30 days to get there! But don't worry if that's a bit much for you, we have some more civilized climbs for you!

NORTH BASE CAMP, accessible by sealed road in Tibet the unobstructed views of the North Face are worth the ride to 5,150m/16,900ft

NORTH COL - Is the starting point of the worlds highest road, a climb to here from sea level is 7,066m/23,182ft

THE ROOF - Climb from sea level to the roof of the world, all 8,848m/29,032ft

Every rider starts at 0m with the first milestone being the NORTH BASE CAMP at 5,150m/16,900ft is the minimum a rider must achieve in order to earn their event jersey. If you don't reach this point then you won't receive your jersey.

The second milestone of the climb is the NORTH COL challenge at 7,066m/23,182ft, riders who make it to here will receive their jersey plus 2 bonus entries into the Major Prize draw.

And the final milestone of the climb is reaching the peak which is the THE ROOF challenge at 8,848m/29,032ft.
